And this Saturday, we're giving you a little change of scenery!
The Oconee Farmers Market will be moving to the Water Tower parking lot at Wire Park this week. We'll still have our wonderful farmers, bakers, makers, and artisans, along with plenty of reasons to come spend your morning with us.
Whether you're picking up something fresh for dinner, looking for a special handmade gift, or simply enjoying a little time outdoors, we hope you'll stop by.

Same Market. Same wonderful vendors. Just a different spot! ❤️.
🌿 A Little Local Goes a Long Way
Have you ever thought about how much good can come from one simple Saturday morning?
A loaf of bread from a local baker. A handful of fresh vegetables from a farmer. A handmade gift from an artisan. A jar of something delicious made right here in our community.
Each purchase may seem small, but together, they make a difference.
When you shop at the Oconee Farmers Market, you're helping local families grow their businesses, supporting farms that work hard to bring fresh food to our tables, and keeping our community connected.
And the wonderful thing is that you don't have to spend a fortune to make a difference.
Sometimes, supporting local starts with just one purchase.
So this Saturday, take a little extra time to visit a vendor you haven't shopped with before. You might discover something wonderful!
👀 A Sneak Peek at Saturday
Our vendors are getting ready for another Market morning, and there's always something worth exploring!
Look for seasonal produce, fresh baked goods, locally made products, handmade jewelry, artwork, and unique creations from our talented makers.
As the growing season changes, our farmers' selections will change too. Be sure to stop by their tables and see what they've been able to harvest this week.
And don't forget to explore the entire Market. You never know when you'll find a new favorite!
Fresh finds, familiar faces, and a little something for everyone.

🥬 Produce Spotlight: Lettuce
Crisp, refreshing, and full of possibilities, lettuce is so much more than the start of a salad!
Tuck tender leaves into a sandwich, use larger leaves as wraps, or toss a handful into a fresh salad with sliced pears, toasted pecans, and a drizzle of your favorite dressing.
A little tip: To help lettuce stay crisp, wash and dry the leaves thoroughly, then store them in the refrigerator with a paper towel to absorb excess moisture.
Stop by our farmers’ tables this Saturday to see what fresh greens they’ve harvested for the week.
And remember, we’ll be in the Water Tower parking lot at Wire Park, 9 AM–1 PM!
🥕 Did You Know? Carrots
A Colorful Root with Big Benefits!
Carrots aren’t just orange! They also come in purple, yellow, red, white, and even two-toned varieties. Each brings its own color and flavor to the table.
Good for Your Eyes: Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which your body converts into vitamin A. Vitamin A helps maintain healthy vision, especially in low light
Packed with Nutrients: Carrots provide fiber, vitamin K, potassium, and antioxidants that help support overall health.
So Many Ways to Enjoy Them: Crunch on them raw, roast them to bring out their natural sweetness, add them to soups and salads, or even bake them into carrot cake!
Locally Grown Goodness: When you buy carrots from local farmers, you’re supporting the people who grow our food and helping keep local agriculture strong.
Look for fresh, locally grown carrots at the Oconee Farmers Market when available. 🥕❤️

Carol’s Corner: Grateful for This Season, Looking Ahead to the Next
There’s something about fall that makes me want to slow down a little and appreciate the things that matter most. The mornings begin to feel different, the seasons change, and before we know it, another year at the Market is drawing to a close.
With just one more month of our regular season, I’ve been thinking about how grateful I am for each and every one of you.
To our farmers who work through the heat, the dry spells, and all the uncertainties that come with growing food—thank you. To our bakers, artists, and makers who pour so much time and care into what you bring each Saturday—thank you. And to our customers who make the Market part of their week, whether you stop by for a full basket or just one special find—thank you.
Every one of you has a place here. Our vendors give the Market its heart, and our customers give it life. The conversations, familiar faces, friendships, and simple act of showing up for one another make this so much more than a place to shop.
As we enjoy these final weeks of our regular season, I’m also looking ahead to next year. I’m excited to think about the farmers and makers we’ll welcome, the familiar faces we’ll see again, and the new friendships waiting to be made. My hope is that we’ll keep growing the Market together while holding on to the sense of community that makes it special.
We still have wonderful Saturdays ahead of us, along with our holiday events. But before this season slips by, I want you to know how much you matter to the Oconee Farmers Market.
Thank you for being part of this year—and for giving me so much to look forward to in the next.
— Carol
