🌾 What’s in Season at the Oconee Farmers Market

At the Oconee Farmers Market in Watkinsville, Georgia, all of our produce comes from farmers within a 50-mile radius. That means everything you find here is truly local, fresh, and seasonal.

This year’s extremely wet spring and summer have made it more difficult for some of our farmers to bring crops to harvest, so availability may vary from week to week. Still, our growers are dedicated to sharing the best of what the season provides.

🌸Spring (March – May)

The first harvests of the year bring:

  • Tender lettuces, kale, spinach & chard

  • Radishes, carrots, beets & turnips

  • Strawberries & early blueberries

  • Fresh herbs like cilantro, dill & parsley

  • Flowers, farm-fresh eggs & baked goods

☀️ Summer (June – August)

Summer is usually peak abundance at the Market:

  • Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers & beans

  • Corn, okra, zucchini & yellow squash

  • Peaches, watermelons, cantaloupes & blackberries

  • Basil, mint & summer herbs

(This year’s heavy rains may mean some of these crops are more limited than usual.)

🍂 Fall (September – November)

Cooler days bring hearty fall favorites:

  • Sweet potatoes, pumpkins & winter squash

  • Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower & collards

  • Apples, pears & pecans

  • Turnips, rutabagas & mustard greens

  • Fresh breads, jams, jellies & honey

❄️ Winter / Off-Season

When the fields rest, the Market shifts:

  • Storage crops like sweet potatoes, winter squash & hearty greens (when available)

  • Farm eggs, baked goods, jams & jellies

  • Handmade crafts, soaps, candles, and artisan goods
