One of the greatest joys of shopping at a farmers market is experiencing food the way nature intended—in season. Unlike grocery stores, where produce is shipped from around the world, our farmers bring what's growing right here in Georgia, picked at its peak of freshness.
That means tomatoes taste sweeter, peaches are juicier, and sweet corn is as fresh as it gets. As the seasons change, so do the colors, flavors, and variety on our farmers' tables. It's a delicious reminder that every season has something special to offer.

Early Bird Tickets are just $65 through August 9. Beginning August 10, tickets increase to $75, including at the door.

Can We Share Something That's Been on Our Hearts?
One of the comments we hear most often is, "I wish there were more vegetables at the market."
The truth is...we have 7 local produce vendors working hard to feed our community.
But here's the reality.
A farmers market can only grow if the community supports the farmers who are already here.
Every Saturday, our farmers are in the fields before sunrise, harvesting produce at its peak so it's as fresh as possible when it reaches the market. They battle unpredictable weather, rising costs, insects, and yes...the Georgia summer heat. They do it because they love farming and because they believe our community values locally grown food.
Yet too often, they load beautiful vegetables back into their trucks at the end of the day.
Fresh produce isn't something that can be put on pause until next weekend. Vegetables are seasonal. Tomatoes, peaches, squash, cucumbers, beans, sweet corn, blueberries—each has a window when it's at its very best. If we wait until "next week" or "later this summer," that opportunity may be gone.
We all say we want more local farms. More fresh vegetables. More choices.
The way we get there isn't by asking farmers to bring more.
It's by showing up for the farmers who are already showing up for us.
Every basket you fill tells a farmer, "Keep planting. We'll be back." Every purchase helps ensure they'll return next season—and encourages other farmers to join them.
The future of a farmers market isn't decided by its vendors.
It's decided by its community.
If you believe local agriculture matters, if you want your children and grandchildren to have access to fresh, locally grown food, and if you want to see even more farmers at the Oconee Farmers Market, we invite you to make shopping local part of your Saturday routine.
